AISVN Together – AIST

Plain words, so we can move forward together

The American International School Vietnam (AISVN) was dissolved by Decision 3693/QĐ-UBND of 31 December 2025. Parents still have no official information about the assets, the records or the money they paid.

AIST has no magic. AIST does two things: gather parents' voices so the State clarifies and supervises, and propose a balance of interests for the parties to consider.

Setting the record straight

Many parents have heard second-hand accounts of AIST that are not accurate. The four points below are AIST's public commitments.

"AIST lobbies parents to write off debts or swap them for worthless shares"

No. AIST asks no one to write off, reduce, defer or swap any debt. AIST's proposal is only an option; a family that wants it signs for itself, with independent counsel, under the law.

"AIST is in league with the school owner"

No. AIST does not represent, act for or decide on behalf of the owner. Talks with any party serve only to obtain information and put forward parents' demands. Parents keep every right to complain, report or sue.

"It's all pie in the sky"

AIST promises no refund. AIST asks the State for five concrete, verifiable things: a multi-party meeting, a named focal point, inventory – sealing – supervision of assets and records, transparency on the debtor entity, a published timeline. Each is status-tracked every two weeks.

"AIST helps the owner move assets away"

The opposite. AIST's first request is to inventory, seal and supervise the school's assets and records in the presence of State agencies and parent representatives.

AIST in three sentences

1

Founded by parents

A social enterprise, no profit distribution, seed capital from a group of parents. No fees from other parents.

2

Nothing is compulsory

No need to join, authorise or agree with AIST to speak up. Anyone who authorised AIST may withdraw at any time.

3

Proposes, does not decide

AIST proposes a balance of interests. It does not carry out a restructuring, does not represent the owner, does not replace the authorities.

What AIST is doing now

  • AISVN Parents' Common Voice: recording every parent's wish, publishing the totals, and asking the competent authority for a multi-party meeting and supervision of assets and records.
  • Updates every two weeks on this site: what is done, what is not, which agency has replied.
  • Anonymous aggregate figures shared with any parent group that asks.

No need to agree with AIST to speak up

What parents need most right now is for the State to clarify and supervise. That does not depend on what you think of AIST.
